Rock band O.A.R will headline ‘Glencoe Live,’ a benefit concert set for Labor Day weekend
Local speculation surrounding the “big-name talent” headliner for a September concert in Glencoe can now become background noise.
The first “Glencoe Live” concert will feature well-known rock band O.A.R., according to a press release from the concert’s organizers. The benefit concert on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Temple Court lot in downtown Glencoe will be presented by the Kadens family foundation.
All of the ticket revenue generated from the show will be donated to the Glencoe Schools PTO to “encourage interaction between family and school, serve as a source of support, and work with teachers, staff, and the community at large to continue to improve our children’s educational experience,” organizers say.
“This past year wasn’t easy on anyone, and this is a way of saying thank you to all of the students, teachers, parents and staff for adjusting every bit of their life to keep moving forward during such uncertain times,” the press release reads.
A small quantity of presale tickets for Glencoe residents will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, for $30, according to the release. General admission tickets will go on sale for $40 this weekend on Saturday, June 26.
A total of 3,000 tickets will be available for the concert, which is a 21-and-over event.
Plans for the concert were first reported by The Record in April when local officials teased a “big-name-talent concert” that would be funded by a family foundation “that is interested in providing this opportunity for the community.”
The Samples will join O.A.R. in performing at the concert.
