Police Reports: Arrest made after series of petty crimes on same day, delivery driver robbed at gunpoint

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

Jan. 16

• Winnetka police arrested a 38-year-old with a last-known address in Evanston after a series of alleged crimes on Jan. 16 in North Shore communities.

In Winnetka, the arrestee reportedly damaged a decorated pot at 80 Green Bay Road.

In Wilmette, the subject reportedly grabbed a cellphone from a pedestrian’s hands at 2:37 p.m. in the 1100 block of Central Avenue and opened packages belonging to others around 3:55 p.m. in the 1600 block of Sheridan Road.

In Kenilworth, the individual reportedly stole several packages — which were later recovered — from a home in the 200 block of Abington Avenue and used a snow shovel to smash the rear window of a vehicle around 4:36 p.m. in the 100 block of Abington.

A few days earlier, on Jan. 12, Glencoe police arrested the individual for allegedly stealing items from the Grand Food Center, 341 Hazel Ave.

WILMETTE

Jan. 18

• Two individuals were arrested for allegedly burglarizing a home in the 700 block of Romona Road. The subjects were also charged with a Jan. 16 burglary of a home in the 3000 block of Greenleaf Avenue.

Jan. 17

• Two snowblowers reportedly were stolen from a pickup truck in the 300 block of Ridge Road.

Jan. 16

• A motorist reportedly drove through a fence near Skokie Boulevard and Glenview Road and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police located them walking along the roadway.

• A package reportedly was stolen from a home in the 900 block of Greenleaf Avenue.

• Items reportedly were stolen from a car trunk that was accidentally left open between Jan. 10-11 in the 2100 block of Elmwood Avenue.

Jan. 14

• An iPad reportedly was stolen from the 400 block of Linden Avenue.

• A building reportedly was vandalized with graffiti in the 700 block of Green Bay Road.

• A cellphone reportedly was stolen from the 3200 block of Lake Avenue.

WINNETKA

Jan. 14

• A delivery driver reportedly was robbed of a package at gunpoint between noon-12:15 p.m. in the 800 block of Oak Street. According to the report, an individual implied they had a gun and demanded a package from the delivery driver before fleeing the area.

Jan. 13

• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for more than $4,500 between Dec. 30-Jan. 9.

GLENCOE

Jan. 11

• Food ordered online reportedly was stolen from a building at 373 Hazel Ave.

Jan. 9

• A bag of groceries reportedly was stolen from the lobby of a building at 373 Hazel Ave.

HIGHLAND PARK

Jan. 15

• Approximately $72,000 in unauthorized transactions reportedly were made on a resident’s online account.

KENILWORTH
