Police Reports: Package and bicycle thefts, U.S. marshal scam

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

Dec. 4

• Two mailed checks reportedly were stolen and cashed.

Dec. 2

• Packages reportedly were stolen from outside of a home in the 100 block of Sheridan Road.

WINNETKA

Dec. 8

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen overnight from outside of a home in the 1100 block of Asbury Avenue.

GLENCOE

Dec. 3

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of $6,000 in gift cards after responding to a caller claiming to be a U.S. marshal and telling the resident they had a warrant out for their arrest.

Nov. 30

• Bottles of cologne reportedly were stolen from a car in the 1000 block of Oak Ridge Drive.

Nov. 27

• A bicycle reportedly was stolen out of an open garage in the 100 block of Whitebridge Hill Road.

HIGHLAND PARK

Dec. 6

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Casey’s, 1333 Half Day Road.

• The contents of a package reportedly were stolen from outside of a home in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road.

Dec. 3

• Several items reportedly were stolen from a house between Oct. 1-Nov. 30 in the 600 block of Homewood Avenue.

Dec. 2

• Approximately $300 in cash reportedly was stolen from Warren Barr, 2773 Skokie Valley Road, a medical rehab facility.

NORTHFIELD
