Police Reports: 3 garage burglaries in Wilmette, clothing theft from local small business
The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).
WILMETTE
Nov. 9
• A bicycle reportedly was stolen from outside of a business in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue.
• Items reportedly were stolen from a detached garage overnight in the 900 block of Cambridge Lane.
• Items reportedly were stolen and a window reportedly broken in a detached garage in the 2000 block of Lake Avenue.
• Items reportedly were stolen from a detached garage and a car and cabinets inside the garage reportedly rummaged through overnight in the 2000 block of Lake Avenue.
Nov. 8
• Two credit cards reportedly were stolen from a purse in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue.
Nov. 5
• A package reportedly was stolen from a home in the 2500 block of Old Glenview Road.
Nov. 4
• A bicycle reportedly was stolen from a yard in the 800 block of Elmwood Avenue.
• Alcohol reportedly was stolen in two separate incidents — once in the 400 block of Green Bay Road and the other in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road.
Nov. 3
• Several train cars reportedly were tagged with graffiti at the Linden Avenue CTA station.
WINNETKA
Nov. 6
• A Verizon Wireless account reportedly was fraudulently opened in a resident’s name with an account balance of nearly $3,000.
GLENCOE
No reported incidents between Oct. 30-Nov. 6 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.
HIGHLAND PARK
Nov. 7
• Approximately $200 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from My Best Friend’s Closet, 1780 Green Bay Road.
• More than $3,000 in merchandise reportedly was discovered missing from My Best Friend’s Closet, 1780 Green Bay Road.
Nov. 5
• Approximately $70 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.
Nov. 4
• A lawnmower reportedly was stolen from a garage in the 2500 block of Green Bay Road.
NORTHFIELD
No incidents reported between Nov. 5-10.
KENILWORTH
No incidents reported between Nov. 1-8.
