First-responders safely resolved a scary scenario in Skokie Lagoons Tuesday evening.
Three kayakers capsized at approximately 5 p.m. in the waters just north of Tower Road, according to the Village of Winnetka. Village Communications Manager Josie Clark said in an email that a rescue swimmer helped the kayakers to shore and all three were uninjured.
The Skokie Lagoons is 894 acres of Cook County Forest Preserve land located within the borders of Winnetka, Northfield and Glencoe. The area is a popular spot for outdoor recreation, such as fishing, hiking, canoeing and kayaking.
