Police Reports: Two homes burglarized in Northfield; string of burglaries to cars in Wilmette

WILMETTE

March 9

• Two fraudulent checks reportedly were cashed against a resident’s account.

March 8

• A $1,200 ring reportedly was stolen from a home in the 300 block or Ridge Road.

March 7

• About $1,200 worth of tools reportedly were stolen from the 1200 block of Central Avenue.

March 6

• Six cars reportedly were broken into — four in the 2000-2200 block of Beechwood Avenue, and one each in the 2500 block of Kenilworth Avenue and 1200 block of Princeton Place

• Police recovered a car reportedly stolen from another jurisdiction in the 2500 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

• A $3,000 painting reportedly was stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road.

March 5

• A car was broken into around 10:40 p.m. in the 1300 block of Central Avenue.

• Nearly $500 in groceries reportedly were stolen at 6 p.m. from Jewel, 411 Green Bay Road

• Police recovered a car reportedly stolen from another jurisdiction in the 2500 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

WINNETKA

March 5

• A scam reportedly cost a resident $3,000 after an individual purporting to be from Microsoft requested $3,000 in gift cards.

Feb. 28

• A resident’s mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for an amount exceeding $5,000.

GLENCOE

No reports between March 1-8 that fit The Record’s standards for publication

NORTHFIELD

March 2

• A home reportedly was burglarized in the 600 block of Sunset Ridge Road. Police reportedly found entry was forcefully made to the home’s front door.

• Coats, coins, cameras and more reportedly were stolen between 12:45-2:45 p.m. from a home in the 400 block of Valley Way. Police reportedly found entry was forcefully made to the home’s back door.

KENILWORTH

No reported activity between March 3-10
