GIRLS BOWLING
Buffalo Grove Sectional
Maya Morales (1,170 pins), Erika Truong (1,119), Shannon Burget (1,077) and Lilli McLaughlin (994) guided New Trier to a second-place finish, good enough for a state berth, on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Ella Kastelic (544) and Madeline Blake (430) contributed to the Trevs’ total pinfall of 5,334, just 57 shy of sectional champ Vernon Hills.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Loyola 61, Steinmetz 32
Oliver Bishop scored 11 points to help the Ramblers to a senior-night victory Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Wilmette. It was Loyola’s 20th victory of the season.
New Trier 70, Maine East 41
The Trevians ended their regular season with the Central Suburban crossover triumph on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Loyola 46, St. Laurence 34
Miles Boland scored 11 points to go with 6 rebounds in the Ramblers’ win on Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Chicago.
Max Garcia chipped in 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Loyola (19-11, 9-5) in the league victory.
New Trier 53, Glenbrook North 50
The Trevians earned the come-from-behind league win Friday, Feb. 11, in Northbrook.
Loyola 40, Fenwick 24
Alex Engro racked up 17 points and 6 rebounds for the host Ramblers on Friday, Feb. 11, in Wilmette.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
New Trier 60, Elk Grove 30
The Trevians opened postseason play with a victory in the Maine South Regional on Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Park Ridge.
Loyola 66, Taft 27
The Ramblers, the sectional’s top seed, bested Taft in their first playoff game on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Maine East High School.
BOYS SWIMMING AND DIVING
Central Suburban South League Championships
Joe Dienstag won the 100-yard backstroke (52.17 seconds) and Stuart Timmerman won the 100 butterfly (52.20) as New Trier conquered the conference championships on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Wyatt Wellehan (488.35 points) and John Ervin (437.9) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 1-meter dive for the Trevians.
MCAC Championships
Lachlan Andrew finished first in the 50-meter freestyle (21.68 seconds) and 100 butterfly (50.92) to pace Loyola Academy to a league championship.
Andrew Kelly (100 back, 50.99) also picked up an individual win for the Ramblers, who also earned titles in all three relays (200 medley, and 200 and 400 free).
