Regina Riveters compete in international robotics competition

The Regina Dominican robotics team, known as the Regina Riveters, competed in the FIRST Robotics Competition Midwest Regional, placing 28th out of 38 teams.

The competition featured seven international teams, including ones from Croatia, Mexico, China, Japan, Türkiye and India.

The Regina Riveters — the only all-girls team in the event — earned the competition’s Team Spirit Award, given to a team displaying enthusiasm, dedication and teamwork.

Members of the Regina Riveters also received the Gracious Professionalism recognition pin for their assistance to another team that lacked enough students.

“The Riveters’ willingness to lend a helping hand and exemplify kindness and cooperation in the robotics community is a testament to what it means to be a Regina Girl!” says a press release from the school.
