Opening statements
The 2024 change to south beach’s operations plan — dune fence, paid entry, etc. — has been divisive. How do you feel the change has impacted the community? What could the board have done differently?
(Re: south plan operations) Were discussions between the board and residents appropriate? Could the board have been more transparent? Could residents have been more understanding?
How are the park district’s programs serving Wilmette families? Where is there room for improvement?
Numerous management-level staffers have left the district in recent years. Why do you think this is happening? And how can the board enable stability?
A recent Record investigation revealed a district volunteer’s disturbing history with online images of children. Do you find that concerning? Should the board do something about it?
