Ballyhoo inks deal with One Winnetka for anchor restaurant
A local restaurant group continues to grow its dining portfolio on the North Shore.
Ballyhoo Hospitality — the team behind Wilmette’s Sophia Steak, Winnetka’s Pomeroy and Highland Park’s DeNucci’s — confirmed it will open a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant within the much-publicized development commonly referred to as One Winnetka. The news was first reported by Crain’s Chicago.
The name of the new restaurant has not been revealed; however, Ballyhoo confirmed that the Mediterranean concept will feature live fire cooking, seafood, dips and more. It reportedly will span 6,700 square feet with capacity to seat 200 inside and another 40 outside.
Ballyhoo has nine dining brands with six North Shore properties: Pomeroy (2021), Sophia Steak in Wilmette (2020) and Lake Forest (2022), Buck Russell’s in Wilmette (2022), Pizza by Sal in Wilmette (2023), and DeNucci’s Italian in Highland Park (2024). Jackman & Co., an American gastropub, is coming to Glenview soon.
The new concept will anchor the development, occupying the corner space at Elm Street and Lincoln Avenue, Ballyhoo confirmed.
One Winnetka is a four-story, mixed-use development with 20,955 square feet of commercial space planned for the first floor. The remaining three floors will feature up to 59 residential units. One Winnetka developers will add 39 public parking spaces at ground level.
