Record Roundup: Candidate forums and other election events

Along with the weather, election season is heating up.

This coming weekend (Saturday-Sunday, March 1-2) brings opportunities to get to know your local candidates.

Local League of Women Voters groups are hosting candidate forums for contested races in multiple communities, and a special meet and greet is scheduled in Highland Park.

Meet and Greet: Dads Running for Office in Highland Park

When: 6 p.m. Saturday, March 1
Where: Secret World Books, 1774 Second St., Highland Park (To Register)
Details and Participants: Informal meet and greet with: North Shore 112 candidates Jaret Fishman, Bradley Hergott, Ryan Morgan, Bennett Lasko and Art Kessler; City Council candidates (2-year seat) Kevin Cullather and Jon Center; and Park Board candidates Tom Vanden Berk and Steve Greenberg.

Candidate Forum: Northfield Village Board (4 candidates, 3 seats)
League of Women Voters of Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth

When: Noon on Saturday, March 1
Where: Zoom (virtual, registration requested)

Candidate Forum: Wilmette Village Board (4 candidates, 3 seats), Avoca District 37 School Board (6 candidates, 4 seats), Wilmette Park Board (6 candidates, 3 seats)

Candidate Forum: Winnetka Park Board (5 candidates, 3 seats) and Winnetka District 36 School Board (4 candidates, 3 seats)
