Police Reports: Bank fraud, battery arrests and online scams

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

Feb. 15

• A door reportedly was forced open at a home in the 2100 block of Iroquois Road triggering a burglar alarm at 6:04 p.m.

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of an undisclosed amount by individuals purporting to be from a fraud department and claiming an account of the resident’s was compromised.

Feb. 13

• Several items reportedly were stolen from a business in the 800 block of Green Bay Road and an individual was arrested nearby for allegedly committing the theft.

Feb. 10

• An individual was arrested for allegedly battering a police officer who responded to a fight on a bus at 4th Street and Linden Avenue.

WINNETKA

Feb. 15

• A resident reportedly was sold a counterfeit, nonfunctioning iPhone for $600.

Feb. 14

• A residents personal information reportedly was used to make unauthorized transactions exceeding $5,000 from the resident’s bank account.

Feb. 13

• An unlocked car reportedly was stolen from a residential driveway in the 300 block of Forest Street.

GLENCOE

Feb. 8

• Unauthorized transactions totaling $4,000 reportedly were made on a resident’s bank account.

Feb. 5

• An individual from California was arrested for allegedly stealing by deception more than $10,000.

HIGHLAND PARK

NORTHFIELD

Feb. 16

• A parking dispute at Christian Heritage Academy, 315 Waukegan Road, reportedly escalated to a physical altercation.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Feb. 7-14
