Police Reports: Home burglary, package thefts and online scams

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

Jan. 25

• Several items reportedly was stolen from a home in the 300 block of Central Avenue. The home’s residents told police they saw individuals running out the front door as they arrived home.

Jan. 20

• Items reportedly were stolen from a car in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard.

WINNETKA

Jan. 26

• Unauthorized transactions reportedly were made to a resident’s bank account after the resident provided personal information to a caller who said they were from Chase Bank.

Jan. 25

• A package reportedly was stolen overnight from a porch in the 600 block Walden Road.

GLENCOE

Jan. 18

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of $3,500 by a caller purporting to be with JP Morgan Chase Bank who requested personal information.

HIGHLAND PARK

Jan. 21

• An item valued at $920 reportedly was stolen from a plow truck at Porsche Exchange, 2300 Skokie Valley Road. The window of the truck reportedly was broken to gain access.

Jan. 20

• Merchandise reportedly was stolen from Target, 2099 Skokie Valley Road.

NORTHFIELD

Jan. 26

• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed.

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of nearly $2,000 by an individual claiming to be a Chase Bank employee.

Jan. 22

• More than $800 in liquor reportedly was stolen around 2:30 p.m. from Mariano’s, 1822 Willow Road.

KENILWORTH

Jan. 22

• A locked bicycle reportedly was stolen between 8 a.m.-3:15 p.m. from a bike rack near the Green Bay Road underpass, 550 Green Bay Road.
