Looking for the next local shop? It’s Uncharted.
Despite the name, you’ll soon be able to locate Uncharted in Wilmette.
This spring, the store plans to open its second Chicagoland location in Wilmette’s Edens Plaza, 3232 Lake Ave., according to property owner WS Development.
Uncharted is a concept that The Paper Store unveiled in 2024 with a location in Oak Brook. According to its website, Uncharted carries everything from beauty and fashion products to home decor to gifts and it focuses on emerging brands and its own product lines.
Uncharted also will feature a jewelry charm bar, ear piercing station and seasonal events, WS Development says.
The new store will take over Suite 110, which is adjacent to anchor spot Walgreens at the south end of the plaza. The space was home to Sports Authority until 2016 and has since housed temporary tenants.
“We are excited to welcome Uncharted as they bring their top brands, trends, and experiential shopping to the North Shore,” said Brittany Mundarain, general manager of Edens Plaza and Plaza del Lago, in a statement. “No doubt they will bring a dose of joy to Edens Plaza and truly offer something for everyone.”
WS Development purchased Edens Plaza in late 2021. The Boston-based firm promised upgrades throughout the plaza and brought with it a tenant — Wayfair — for the 150,000-square-foot vacant Carson’s space. Wayfair opened in May 2024 with a grand celebration.
Renovations are ongoing around the plaza, and Uncharted is among the first new tenants under WS Development. In October 2024, WS announced Chicago nail salon Flamant was expanding with a location in Edens Plaza.
WS Development also owns Plaza del Lago, which is also enduring renovations, and many locals are eagerly anticipating new tenants for the historic shopping center.
