Evanston 49, Loyola 33

Trey Williams scored 12 points in the Ramblers’ loss on Monday, Jan. 20, in Wilmette.

Highland Park 53, Lake View 38

Simon Moschin (15 points), Alex Kriser (11 points) and Matthew Simon (9 points) helped the Giants to victory on Saturday, Jan. 18, in Highland Park.

Loyola 45, Fenwick 34

Trey Williams goes for 19 points and 9 rebounds for the visiting Ramblers on Friday, Jan. 17.

Sam Golden chipped in 15 points and Brendan Loftus 8 points and 9 rebounds for Loyola.

Highland Park 45, Vernon Hills 33

Simon Moschin dropped a game-high 22 points in the Giants’ league win on Friday, Jan. 17.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Highland Park 43, Deerfield 37

The Giants (15-6, 6-1) earned an important league and rivalry win on Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Deerfield.

Loyola 61, Evanston 27

The Ramblers (21-2) took care of their local rival on Tuesday, Jan. 21, for their 15th straight victory.

Regina 54, Francis Parker 12

Jillian DeFranza scored 14 points while Natalia Cerrado added 10 for the Panthers (14-7, 6-0), who clinched their first Independent School League title with the victory on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Grace Byrne added 6 points, Catherine Conway grabbed 6 rebounds and Olivia Fraterrigo recorded 4 steals for Regina Dominican.

New Trier 58, Hillcrest 30

The Trevians (9-12) picked up a victory in the Marshall MLK Dream Classic on Sunday, Jan. 19.

Regina 45, Christ the King 18

Olivia Fraterrigo (13 points) and Bridget Conway (10 points) led the way for the Panthers in the league victory on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Round Lake MLK Tournament

Highland Park placed second and finished 3-1 between Saturday-Monday, Jan. 18-20, besting Jefferson (Rockford) 49-43, Johnsburg 45-35 and Wheeling 53-35 and falling to Lake Forest Academy 57-48.

Regina 34, Chicago Uni High 29

Jillian DeFranza scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Panthers’ victory on Friday, Jan. 17.

BOYS WRESTLING
Geneseo Tournament

Kai Calcutt won his weight class and earned the tournament’s outstanding wrestler award for Loyola Academy on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Niko Odiotti also won a title, while fellow Ramblers Danny Malan (second), Gavin Pardilla (fourth) and August Close (fourth) also made the medal stand.

Hoffman Estates Tournament

Harlee Hiller, of Loyola Academy, was champion of her division at the invite on Saturday, Jan. 18.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Highland Park 131.55, Maine East 104.85

Maddyn Cohen won three (floor, vault and beam) of four events on her way to the all-around title (34.55) for the Giants on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Lily Fussle added a win on bars (8.5) to help Highland Park post its best team total in 15 years.

Mari-Rae Sopper Invite

Clara Crossgrove placed first on beam (9.6) and third in the all-around (36.85) for New Trier, which placed second out of 11 teams on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Wizarding World of Niles North Invitational

Maddyn Cohen placed second on vault (8.9) and Jillian Mangione fourth (tied; 8.6) to lead Highland Park to a fifth-place finish at the 11-team invite on Saturday, Jan. 18.

BOYS BOWLING
Taft Regional

Dylan Heng (1,266 series), Daniel Lam (1,245) and William Gonzalez (1,231) led Loyola Academy to a regional championship on Saturday, Jan. 18, when the Ramblers totaled 6,015 pins.

Cameron Claybrook, of New Trier, advanced to the sectional with a 1,177 pinfall. The Trevians placed sixth (5,560).
