Police Reports: Rental car stolen and several car burglaries
The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).
WILMETTE
Jan. 5
• Liquor reportedly was stolen from a business in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue.
Jan. 3
• Items reportedly were taken from a car that had its window smashed out in the 3200 block of Lake Avenue.
Jan. 2
• Three train cars reportedly were vandalized with graffiti in the 300 block of Linden Avenue.
• A car window reportedly was broken out in the 800 block of Romona Road.
• Items reportedly were stolen from a car that also had a window broken out in the 200 block of 17th Street.
• The convertible top of a car reportedly was cut to gain access in the 300 block of 17th Street.
Jan. 1
• Items reportedly were stolen from a store in the 400 block of Green Bay Road.
WINNETKA
Jan. 4
• Cash and a coin purse reportedly were stolen from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 100 block of Fuller Lane.
Jan. 1
• More than $4,000 in unauthorized transactions reportedly were made to a resident’s credit card.
GLENCOE
Jan. 1
• A resident reportedly was scammed out of more than $10,000 by an individual purporting to be with Bank of America who sent the resident a letter in the mail.
HIGHLAND PARK
Dec. 31
• A Shell gas station reportedly was vandalized with etching in one of the windows at 1411 Park Avenue West.
NORTHFIELD
Jan. 2
• A car window reportedly was smashed in the 100 block of West Frontage Road.
KENILWORTH
Dec. 30
• An unlocked rental car with the keys inside reportedly was stolen between 1 a.m.-10 a.m. from the 400 block of Sheridan Road.
