Police Reports: Residents report check washing and digital scams

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

Sept. 20

• Liquor reportedly was stolen from a business in Edens Plaza, 3232 Lake Ave.

• Cosmetics and vitamins reportedly were stolen from a business in Edens Plaza, 3232 Lake Ave.

Sept. 18

• Two individuals were arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Wilmette home in the 1200 block of Richmond Lane and another in the 1600 block of Spencer Avenue, both in July.

• An individual was arrested for allegedly stealing liquor from a business in Plaza del Lago.

Sept. 17

• Money reportedly was stolen from two cars in the 1000 block of Manor Drive.

WINNETKA

Sept. 19

• A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for an amount over $5,000.

Sept. 18

• Mailed checks reportedly were stolen, altered and cashed for a total of $4,080.

GLENCOE

Sept. 17

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen from Central School, 620 Greenwood Ave.

Sept. 13

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of more than $100,000 after responding to a message flashing on their computer screen.

HIGHLAND PARK

Sept. 21

• A home in the 3000 block of Old Mill Road reportedly was burglarized while the homeowners were out of town.

NORTHFIELD

Sept. 21

• An unlocked bicycle reportedly was stolen from outside of Mariano’s, 1822 Willow Road.

Sept. 17

• Three unlocked cars reportedly were burglarized overnight in the 1700 block of Northfield Square

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Sept. 13-20
