GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Loyola 25-25, Lane Tech 23-19

Ava Swanson recorded 4 aces, and Addie Leadbetter and Brea Payne had 2 apiece to lead the Ramblers (7-0) on Thursday, Sept. 5, in Wilmette.

Loyola 25-25, Evanston 17-21

Lauren Schrantz tallied 9 kills, while Ellen Gundlach added 7 for the Ramblers on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Crimson Classic

Grace Kreutz was named the tournament’s MVP after leading Loyola Academy to a championship on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Plainfield North High School.

Kreutz had 10 kills in the Ramblers 25-21, 25-17 victory against Lincoln-Way East in the title bout. Ellen Gundlach chipped in 8 kills for Loyola and was named to the All-Tournament team along with teammate Ava Swanson.

The Ramblers didn’t lose a set on the weekend, defeating Oak Park-River Forest (25-8, 25-14), Lockport (25-20, 25-22), Geneva (25-15, 25-17) and Prospect (25-10, 25-10) en route to the crown.

Schaumburg Christian 25-20-25, Regina Dominican 20-25-16

Peyton Bertsch racked up 14 kills and 9 digs for the Panthers on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

New Trier 2, Libertyville 0

Noah Capocchi scored both goals for the victorious Trevians on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

North Shore Country Day 3, Fenwick 3

The Raiders battled to a draw on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Skokie Playfields in Winnetka.

Elias Weidemanis’ 33 led the Trevians to the league win on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Drew Southwell shot a 33 for the Ramblers, who took on the Wildkits in a split-squad doubleheader on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Buffalo Grove Invite

Boden Rice (69) and Logan Keefer (70) led New Trier to a first-place finish on Saturday, Aug. 31.

Drew Southwell, of Loyola Academy, won the tournament with a 4-under-par 68 as the Ramblers placed sixth.

Abby Thiel shot a 56 to lead the Panthers on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
