Police Reports: Motorcyclist crashes after fleeing police, handgun recovered after traffic stop

The following reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

Sept. 1

• A man was arrested after allegedly fleeing a police stop on a motorcycle and then crashing the vehicle near the interchange of the Edens Expressway and Old Orchard Road. The individual reportedly fled on foot and was arrested in a parking lot in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road in Skokie.

Aug. 30

• Two men were arrested after a car was pulled over and a loaded handgun and marijuana reportedly were recovered.

Aug. 29

• A car tire reportedly was removed and replaced with a decorative stone in the 1500 block of Maple Avenue.

• A wallet reportedly was stolen from a restaurant in the 1100 block of Wilmette Avenue.

Aug. 28

• A bicycle reportedly was stolen from a backyard in the 900 block of Oakwood Avenue.

Aug. 26

• A van reportedly was stolen from the 100 block of Green Bay Road. The vehicle reportedly was recovered by Evanston police and an individual was arrested in connection with the theft.

Aug. 25

• A bicycle reportedly was stolen from a backyard in the 100 block of 3rd Street.

Aug. 24

• An iPad and change reportedly were taken from an unlocked car in the 300 block of Linden Avenue.

WINNETKA

No reports between Aug. 26-Sept. 2 that meet The Record’s standards for publication.

GLENCOE

Aug. 23

• A resident reportedly was scammed out of $1,000 by a texter purporting to be a bail bondsman and stating they needed bond money to get the resident’s child out of jail.

HIGHLAND PARK

Aug. 31

• Approximately $1,000 in merchandise reportedly was stolen from Ulta, 135 Skokie Valley Road.

NORTHFIELD

Aug. 29

• A laptop reportedly was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 200 block of Northfield Road.

KENILWORTH

No incidents reported between Aug. 23-30.
