Chicago man arrested for 2022 sexual assault of juvenile in Glencoe

A Glencoe police sexual-assault investigation that began in 2022 led to the arrest of a 27-year-old Chicago man earlier this month.

Authorities arrested Miguel Unzueta on June 11 for the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile female in 2022 near the Skokie Lagoons, according to Glencoe Deputy Chief Andrew Perley.

Perley said Unzueta reportedly connected with the minor victim on the social media platform Snapchat before they met on multiple occasions in the fall of 2022.

The victim reported the assault in 2022. The ensuing investigation included phone records and electronic communication between the two, Perley said, revealing that Unzueta was aware of the victim’s age during their communications.

Unzueta is charged with criminal sexual assault, as well as manufacturing child pornography for allegedly recording the crime, according to Perley.

Unzueta’s next court appearance is on Friday, July 5, at Skokie Courthouse.
