Police say drunken driver seriously injured after single-car crash in Kenilworth
A heavy emergency response early Thanksgiving morning was needed for a single-car car accident on Sheridan Road.
According to a release from the Village of Kenilworth, a woman driver was ejected from her car when it “left the roadway and struck a concrete flower planter” around 1 a.m. Nov. 24 at Sheridan and Kenilworth Avenue.
The release says the woman was transported to Evanston Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition is unclear. No one else was reported injured in the incident.
The driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, Kenilworth police reported.
A regional unit — the NORTAF Major Crash Assistance Team — is investigating the wreck.
