Police seek help identifying man who exposed himself, solicited children on sidewalk in Wilmette

The Wilmette Police Department is searching for a male subject who exposed himself to two female minors, then solicited them to perform a sexual act earlier today, Tuesday, June 22.

At approximately 4:44 p.m., the victims were on a sidewalk in the 800 block of Linden Avenue where they were approached by the man in a vehicle described as a blue 4-door hatchback, unknown make and model, according to a press release issued by Deputy Police Chief Patrick Collins.

The unknown man stopped his vehicle on the street near the victims, the release says, adding that while he remained in the vehicle, the subject pulled his pants down, exposed his genitalia and solicited them to perform a sexual act.

“The subject immediately drove off,” the release says. “There was no further contact between the subject or victims.”

The subject was described as a white male in his 20’s with brown or red hair, and wearing a white or beige hat and glasses, per the release.

Further questions to the police regarding the victims and where the offender fled have been unanswered as of press time.

The Wilmette Police Department requests if you have any information on this crime or the offender, contact Detective Jon Sokolnik at (847) 256-1200.
